AI products change fast, and a wrong price or a made-up feature can cost you money. Here’s exactly how BotPlainly works to get things right.
1. Official sources first
For facts about features, plans, and prices, we go to the official source: the company’s own pricing pages, help docs, terms, and announcements. For Grok and Grok Bot, that means pages like x.ai, grok.com, and docs.x.ai. We link to those sources in our posts so you can check them yourself.
We use news articles, reviews, and social media posts for context and ideas, but we don’t treat them as proof. If an official source and a third-party source disagree, we go with the official source and may note the difference.
2. “Last checked” dates
Any post that mentions prices, plans, limits, or availability shows a “Last checked” date. That’s the day we confirmed those details on the official pages. If a post doesn’t have a recent date, treat its prices as a starting point and confirm them on the official site.
3. Updates when things change
- When a price, plan, or important feature changes, we update the affected posts and add a short “What changed” note with the date.
- We regularly re-check our pricing and plan posts, and we check sooner when a company announces changes.
- Big changes get their own dated post in News & Updates.
- We fix mistakes as soon as we confirm them. If a correction changes the meaning of a post, we say so in the post.
4. How we write: AI-assisted, human-checked
We’re a site about AI, and we use it. Some BotPlainly drafts are written with help from AI tools. No post is published straight from an AI tool. Before a post goes live, a person:
- reviews and edits it for clarity and accuracy,
- checks every price, plan name, and feature claim against official sources, and
- removes anything we can’t verify.
When we test a product ourselves, we say so. When we haven’t, we don’t pretend we have.
5. Plain language, honest limits
We write for everyday readers, not engineers. We explain jargon when we have to use it, and we always cover the downsides, limits, and costs, not just the highlights.
6. Independence
BotPlainly is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SpaceXSI (formerly xAI) or X. No company reviews or approves our content before it’s published. Ads and affiliate links never decide what we cover or what we recommend. See our Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure.
